This website includes supplemental and visiting information on the 44.24 acre parcel at 10005 Rice Road in Brook Park, Minnesota. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a real heirloom property, which rarely becomes available. It has quality and features you'll find no place else. It's only a one hour drive from the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro area, and only 15 minutes from the neighboring towns of Pine City, Mora, and Hinkley. While it's deep in the Minnesota wilderness, it's also just a short drive from grocery stores, gas stations, and even a Walmart for necessities.
This unique property is heavily wooded, but full of clearings and trails allowing for exploration and activities all four seasons. It would be great for a cabin or even a 4-season home. It includes 1000 feet of the Pokegama Creek, and holds all the incredible wildlife Minnesota is known for. You'll frequently see deer, beavers, racoons, squirrels, wild turkey, and even an occasional shy black bear, coyote, or bobcat.

This is very helpful when visiting. Click on the picture with your smart phone, and it will open up a Google "mymaps" page with overlays of property borders, trails, clearings, and other landmarks. The best part is it will show exactly where you are at all times, so you don't get lost.
We recommend using this link on your cell phone while you're exploring the property, so you can see exactly where you are in relation to various landmarks and boundaries. Your current location will come up as a small blue circle.
The map also gives current conditions of trails. Any trail which isn't recently groomed and in easy travel condition is dark red. You can take those trails, but they may have new growth branches or a fallen tree to make travel a little difficult. The yellow paths are wide enough for a truck or SUV.
While Verizon and AT&T give good cell signal strength in this area, T-Mobile can have very slow data speed, making loading times slow.
Click on the image for a PDF file of the property survey. It shows positions of property markers defining boundaries as well as other landmarks such as nearby fences. Below are two versions, of different sizes/quality, in case of bandwith or email limitations with very large files.
You must make an appointment, no unexpected drop ins, and only travel by foot or ATV into the woods unless accompanied by the owner. Park automobiles, trucks, and trailers in the clearing right outside the woods. While the drive into the woods is made for four-wheel-drive truck or SUV, trail conditions can vary, and after spring snow melt or a heavy rain, automobiles can leave ruts or get stuck. We can't come pull you out of the mud if you do something foolish. This is natural undeveloped land. You are responsible for your own safety if you visit.
Rules:
Appointments necessary. Call or text us 612-930-2740, or email tejones777@aol.com and you will be given any 4-hour time slot between 7:00 am at 8:00 pm which isn't already scheduled. You will also be given a temporary combination to the lock at the front gate. You must recontact us again if you wish to visit outside of this approved time slot.
For best experience, consider a visit when the owner can be available to show you around. He may even be able to loan you an ATV, so you can see all corners of the property in a very efficient visit. He is available most weekends, Thursdays, and some Tuesdays.
Know your limits if riding an ATV. There are steep slopes and rapidly flowing water. Only you are responsible for your safety.
Park vehicles/trailers in clearing outside the woods, and only enter woods by foot or ATV unless escorted by owner.
To cross the Pokegama creek by ATV, cross at the rocky fjord shown on the map and in the video. There's a small bridge over the beaver dam for those on foot.
There are a few trails which haven't been cleaned up and groomed yet after the fast growth of spring. The mobile map above will show current trail conditions of all trails. We strongly recommend you use it when visiting so you don't get lost.

No firearm shooting, don't harass wildlife or damage trees or vegetation off trails.
Cellular trail cameras and protective neighbors are keeping an eye on the property.
Any access outside of approved time slot will be considered trespass, and the Pine County Sheriff's office will be notified.
